Is Acupuncture Painful?
Most people do not feel pain with acupuncture treatments. You may feel a warmth, tingling, heaviness or slight movement beneath the skin, which is the Qi. Many people simply fall asleep during the treatment, or mention that they haven't felt so relaxed in years!

What to Expect on Your First Visit
On your first visit, I will take a thorough history of your health, and may discuss
your health concerns with you for an hour or more. I will then feel your pulse and observe your tongue, two diagnostic tools used in Chinese Medicine. The condition of the internal organs are reflected in the qualities of the pulse and tongue. Based on your diagnosis, your treatment may include acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, Chinese Tui Na massage, a prescription for an herbal formula, dietary advice, exercise recommendations, or lifestyle changes all based on your particular pattern. Some conditions can be treated in very few sessions, while others may require a course of treatment for six to twelve sessions.
